HANSON launch video Podcast "Taking The Walk" with the free episodic release of acclaimed documentary film "Strong Enough To Break"
Podcast continues with new episodes documenting the making of new album.
In anticipation of the upcoming release of HANSON's 4th studio album "The Walk", the band will launch a new docu-series podcast by giving away their critically acclaimed documentary "Strong Enough To Break". In an unprecedented move the film will be available for free, in episodic form on iTunes starting Jan 16th. The film documents the band's 3-year struggle with their former major record company, and their eventual decision to part ways and start their own independent record label which lead to a Billboard #1 Independent Album. "Strong Enough To Break", a film that reflects the current state of the music industry, was screened at college campuses across the US and incorporated into curriculums at a number of schools, including USC and NYU. The film was also honored at the Hollywood Film Festival last October.
"Strong Enough To Break" kicks off the launch of the podcast "Taking The Walk" on iTunes, followed by new episodes featuring the recording of the band's new album, starting Feb 26th.
"Touring colleges with the documentary "Strong Enough To Break" inspired us to continue telling the story with the "Taking The Walk" podcast", said Taylor Hanson. "We wanted to give everyone a chance to watch the documentary and see where we've been, before we show them where we're going with "Taking The Walk"".
The new "Taking The Walk" episodes take an in-depth look at the trials and triumphs of an independent band, as they take on the creation of their new album while running their own record label. Additional podcast episodes will roll out weekly, leading up to the May 22nd release of "The Walk" on the band's own 3CG Records.
Hanson released "Great Divide", a charity single from "The Walk" on December 1, 2006 in honor of World AIDS Day. The song was inspired by Hanson's recent trip to Africa, where they witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by the AIDS/HIV epidemic. The song is available exclusively on iTunes, with all proceeds going to HIVSA, an African organization working to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The song and accompanying video, can be experienced at
