Slow news week
If you're a copywriter and it's a slow news week, and a notoriously outrageous celebrity does something stupid, that's a good day.
If you're a copywriter and there's a subsequent public outcry, complete with thousands of pointless complaints, politicians emptily condemning the celebrity, and the celebrity's employers arbitrarily punishing him out of proportion with what he did, that's a great day.
But if you're a copywriter, and the opportunity to write this comes across your desk:
'Me and my grandad are both really happy because it could have damaged our reputation permanently,' said the 23-year-old Satanic Sluts dancer. 'I'm just glad that it's all over with everyone can move on.'
...then somewhere in Heaven an angel gets his wings.
