Does anyone know anywhere in Sydney to get nutritional east? So many great recipes require it!

health food stores, labeled brewer's yeast. Just ask at the counter.

NO! Brewer's yeast is a completely different thing to nutritional yeast! It's for, well, brewing and doesn't taste at all good sprinkled on stuff!

Sorry for yelling. This is an important distinction!

Butbut...I use brewer's yeast and I like the taste! (Mind, I've never tried nutritional yeast, having never seen it in shops here.)

Hmmmm. Now I'm interested in trying a little to see what it's like. (I made the assumption it didn't taste good, because I'm a bad person.)

Where are you from? I agree: It's not the easiest thing to find =/

No, it actually does taste crap. I have tried it.

There's also Torula Yeast, which my housemate has tried when he couldn't find savoury yeast flakes, and says it tastes mildly cheesy, but I haven't tried it.

Also, I don't think the other yeasts are fortified, whereas savoury yeast flakes are.

*sheepish* Actually, I ordered some proper nutritional yeast from the Cruelty Free Shop, and it's completely different (obviously, you knew that). I finally understand why people keep talking about the cheesy taste!

Suffice to say, I won't be going back to brewer's yeast.

Strangely, now I'm even more tempted to try it!
