Unless the store puts some weird mark on their products, the cartons and their barcodes are identical.
It's complicated without the receipt, but as it's not your fault I assume most places would be fine to take it without one.
Perhaps you should return it to the biggest megacorporationoutlet you can find, as you're creating more work for them while getting your refund that makes no financial difference to them anyway (and thus not creating more work for smaller places*) =)
* Having said this, it's not so difficult at the place I work, and it's an excuse to have a conversation with yet another person, so perhaps this is negligible.
Don't the big megacorporations (or anyone, really) get their $$ refunded as well from the company that had its stuff recalled? (in this case, Bonsoy). I thought that was how it worked, but perhaps not.
Yep, AFAIK. I think the disadvantage to megacorporations A was talking about was in creating more work for them, BUT that would only really affect the poor pleb doing the work.
Yes, but I just figured if we had the choice between making megacorporations put in a little work to get their money back it's better than making small businesses put in the same work. It still won't hurt them financially unless the work hours involved start to add up, though, so really, it's negligible.
I would go to megacorporation too because I would fear that smaller companies wouldn't get enough people to make it worthwhile, so they may just forget about the whole thing and be down a few bucks.
Spiral foods is actually being quite good at making sure outlets are able to get refunds smoothly. Small outlets, like where I work, have to put a system in place to enable returns, and once that's done spiral looks after the rest.
So, perhaps it's best to just return it where you can get the most money for it so you can buy the most crack?

I think I'll just go with what's most convenient - the local IGA.
