Yesterday I presented a worshop on Libraries as Queer Venues at Queer Collaborations (Also known as QC. It is the national queer students conference, this year hosted by Curtin University), which had a really positive response.
I had a number of questions from people inquiring about which queer books I would recommend, in terms of what I would like to see in our libraries.
As someone suggested at the time, check out the Banned Books lists online- they tend to have very detailed information about just why they are banned!
As for me, I would recommend the wiki of Youth Guardian Services .
They have extensive resource lists (although they could do with updating). Personally, any book/author that has a wiki page of its own (ie. Nancy Garden, or Alex Sanchez), are my faves.
I hope everyone is having an amazing QC!!
