Walking in Sedona

« Sedona Backdrop 3:  Sedona was hotter than I expected....
4.15pm; starting our walk; and still over 100°F *although that's 39°C in Canadian & Australian*   :o)

» Sedona Backdrop 6:  I think this is my favourite picture I took of the Sedona landscape, although it does tend to change... *which one is my favourite pic I mean*.   The red earth reminded me so much of my native home.  I was a wondering nomad - a stranger in a foreign land, but strangely felt so at home in the heat and red earth.

After hiking for an hour or so.... the attendant at the "gas" station looked through the shop-window at me stunned as I poured (or wasted?) a bottle of store-bought cold-water on top of my head.   Sometimes I felt conspicuous (and eventually self-concious) when I behaved in a way that seemed so natural.   There was much about American culture I did not (and probably still do not) understand.
