Day 24 - A song that you want to play at your funeral
What is sad is that I think I've probably given more thought to this than I did to wedding music. There are a lot of things I'd like to have playing. If I were having a viewing, it would be more fun... I'd like to pipe in XTC's Dear God or Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here just for irony. But here are two songs that I think no question will be there somewhere.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart -- Lacrimosa

Damn and blast, the frakkin song gives me chillbumps every time! I first heard it when I sang it sophomore year in competition for choir. Amadeus came out the following year and this scene... it's just perfect.
Muse -- Thoughts of a Dying Atheist

I frakkin LOVE this song. It's always funny to read the comments on the lyrics to this online. People all, "Oh, the atheist is finally realizing what it means and converting and shit." And I'm all, dude, clearly you aren't atheist, or at least aren't my kind of atheist. This song expresses exactly how I've always felt knowing that it's pretty possible that death is all there is. It's all I can see, it's scary, and what matters is how you deal with that... the very last thing you will do.
Plus, what I really want at my funeral is for everyone to be rocking out and drinking port or beer or the adult beverage of their choice.
