So the writers for yet another series have killed off one of the gay romantic leads. This time Pavel from Ireland's Raw. It's a fabulous show which I only started watching last week but quickly fell in love...the character Geoff (who is the other half of the pairing) is wonderful, badass chef with some very Brian Kinney like qualities (the good ( Read more... )

I know what you mean it seems that all the gay couples on soaps just never seem to have a happy ending at the moment and it can be quite depressiing I have been watching GTST on youtube and I couldn't believe they killed off Edwin I can't imagine anyone else with Lucas as they has such good chemistry. I cried buckets when I watched the end and it just doesn't feel the same.

The on;y gay couple on a soap now is Christian and Syed in Eastenders, which I don't always watch but at least they are together again.

Their is a story happening on Neighbours where they have a guy who is going to be coming out and he fancies a other gay guy but we will have to wait and see what happens as I don't think Neighbours has had a gay kiss on the show but I could be wrong.

I also watched the Ste and Brendan on Hollyooaks although Brendan wasn't the nicest to Ste he had his moments but this was only one part of his life. They are not going out anymore even though they had great chemistry but you never know they may revisit the storry at sometime as it isn't completely over.

Why is it that the gay couples don't work out or they die???

I watched GTST too. I just kept hoping the spoilers were misleading somehow. I couldn't believe they were going to kill him after Lucas was in a coma for so long!!! It was similar on Raw - Pavel had been gone all of this season except for the last two episodes and he dies at the end of the last one! UGH!

It's true about Christian and Syed being together and I've always really liked them. But they didn't even get a proper reunification story! One episode they were fighting and then they were kissing goodbye as Christian was leaving town and it was like OH ok, they're together again.

I am hoping they revisit Ste and Brendan. I didn't like all aspects of their story (obviously!) but I was always very compelled by it. Right now I'm enjoying the whole George/Callum dynamic. So we'll see where that goes. At least we know Hollyoaks is capable of a happy ending to a gay storyline, (even if they'd had to have a tragic ending to get there!)

I just loved this show and the characters and it seems like such a lazy way of getting out of the actor wanting to leave. :(
