The new face of failure

You cannot win. Never completely.
You're always undereducated or overeducated.
You're always too much of a majority or too much of a minority.
You're always too smart or too stupid.
You're always trying too hard or not at all.
You're always too loved or too hated.
You will always be too much of something. There will always be the people who tell you that you don't understand because you haven't lived a situation like they have, that you don't care enough, that you don't get it
That's okay.
It's okay because no one makes your decisions for you. If you care about something, and it's not hurting, offending, or oppressing anyone, then you go ahead and care. Don't listen to their bullshit.
Don't let them tell you that you're not a "true fan", or a "true ally", or a "true artist".
Unless you're talking actual facts, the idea of truth is relative. There are no standards for caring about something. You just care and let it make you happy. Don't jump through hoops to get validated. The kind of people who set out guidelines for caring are the kind of people who you don't want to waste your time on. They set up these achievements and accomplishments and standards because they're terrified of the idea of someone caring more than they do.
Be who you want to be, love what you want to love.
You'll always be a failure in someone's eyes, but as long as it's not your own, you'll be fine.
