Life on the South Side

So we've been living on the Southside for a month now. It's pretty good really. I can still ride my bike to the ANU from here, although the result is a great need to have a shower and change clothes and stock up on sunscreen. Not to mention the humiliation of constantly being overtaken on the bike path going uphill onto the bridge by Those of the Lycra. How is it that those people manage to stay so pristine? Have they not glands?

Anyways, the job is good. I like it. It results in my reading a looooot of news websites every day. The tv is also on all the time in the call centre which annoys me. It isn't too bad usually though, considering that it is mostly switched onto Sky News. So yeah, I like my job and I am looking forward to doing more of it.

University is university. I had the advantage of actually getting a lot of Spanish practise (practice? I always get those mixed up, language advice welcomed) over the holidays, so going back has been hella easy. Especially seeing how much of what we've done thus far has been revision. Pfh. I missed my second Russian class due to a general inability to get out of bed for a 9am class, but I think I can count on my previous study to help me out on that one.

Danny is still living with us. He is a great guy, but it has been a month and that is how long we agreed to host him for. So it will be interesting to see what is expected of us now that this period is up. We really just don't have the time or inclination at the moment, and damnit, we want to live by ourselves in our ultra-cool apartment now!

I won Area Representative of the Year, to no-one's surprise. I thought my bonus would be cash, but it is a Flight Centre voucher instead, leaving us unsure of what to do with it. Suggestions welcome.

And that is all I have to ramble on about at present. Um. Hooray for fishes!
