Tomorrow night, we'll be watching Ours, Switchfoot, and Blue October on stage. I'm so excited that I can't contain myself. And here's why:
In April, we had planned to go to Blue October's concert. They were going to be playing in Myrtle Beach, which is only a couple of hours from our house. We've liked Blue October for quite a while and we were really excited for the concert. A day or two before the concert date, a wave of wildfires broke out in Myrtle Beach. To make a long story* short, the concert ended up being cancelled because the venue was being used as a shelter.
We quickly changed our plans and headed down to Georgia for another weekend trip to the Renaissance Faire. On the way there, the premise, characters, and everything about Dancing beneath the Moon was formed. It was as though fate was looking down on us and cancelled the concert for a reason. None of this would've happend in the two hour trip to the concert.
So, as you can see, we've been waiting to see this group for a really long time now. So, when I'm not on tomorrow night, just remember that I should have lots to share when I return.
And a few of my favorite Blue October songs, including "My Never" which is strong inspiration for Shadows of Forever.
I couldn't find "Kangaroo Cry" but I would recommend looking it up elsewhere and listening to it! It's another great one. (
