I'm such a mix of random emotions that it's not even funny right now. I'm super excited about writing and the things that Crystal and I have planned for the upcoming months. On the flip side, I'm halfway depressed about the job hunt. I have decided to overcome this half though and focus on the writing. Like I told Crystal last night, right now becoming a published author is looking as doable as finding a teaching position (she said in time, but we're just gonna let me leave this comment as it is, okay?).
So, we'll focus on the writing....
Dancing beneath the Moon - We have not started on the editing yet. We originally said to let it simmer a month and start in August. We planned out our August calendar (new concept for me) and decided to start (and hopefully finish) while we are dog sitting. (We dog sit Aug 12-17) There shouldn't be as many distractions there.
Shadows of Forever - It is our goal to get a good bit done on this novel during the write over today. Hopefully, we will accomplish it! If not, we are going to start periodically working on it.
Secrets of the Moon - This is the sequel we've started to Dancing beneath the Moon. I'm loving playing with Aiden and Madison some more. They have a story to tell and Dancing didn't quite finish it for them. Lots more is going to come out in this book and I'm on edge to see how it all unravels. The plan is to (finally) create the playlist for Secrets. This whole time we've been writing to the Dancing and Shadows playlists. (Which, if I think about it, I'll post them both up here soon!)
Enchantment - We had a long chat about this one and I still don't know if we've decided. I think the final decision was to push through as much as we can on
authorsbootcamp to try and get the first (Wendel) and second (Chris) books written for it. However, we're debating about scrapping them and starting right in on Book 3, which starts where the original attempt started. Wendel and Chris are essentially back stories to the larger story surrounding the town of Golden Bell and the tenth Ennea. It's a complicated mess of figuring out just where to begin. When we know, I'll let you know - how's that sound?
1000 True - I've joined the
1000true community as a way to share my fiction with more people. This community is for writers and readers alike. I'll be posting some of my (and possibly our, if I can get enchantedsister to submit her application) fiction to the community and would love to have some people following! If you like to write, sign up to post some of your work. If you love to read, sign up to read. We would love to have some people to read and you would get the chance to read a variety of fresh, new fiction in different genres!!!
Two to Write - Crystal and I are looking to put our fiction out there in another way as well. Are you ready for this? We've started a blog and we're going to be posting some of our writing there for people to read. We're starting with Howling (which is also posted in my writing journal) and Descendant (written by Crystal). Those will be going up in installments over the next couple of weeks. Both are fantasy short stories and both are side or back stories to larger works we're working on. Howling is a back story to Dancing beneath the Moon. It focuses on how Aiden's parents met and fell in love. Descendant is a side story to Enchantment and focuses on a carialle who meets Chris. You'll have to read it to find out more about carialles. But that's not it - in upcoming weeks (after we've finished the installments of Howling and Descendant), we're going to be starting an entirely new novel and it's going to be free for you to read!!
New Novel - Yep, we're starting another novel. This one's YA and fantasy. However, it doesn't focus on werewolves or vampires. We're taking on a different element of fantasy - the ghost. That's all I can tell you about it right now as we're devoting part of today to hashing out the details. It'll be at least a couple of weeks before we are able to post any of it, but do keep an eye out for more information regarding it!
Now that I've given you a massive writing update and feel as though I've left something out - I'm going to go. There's a write over occuring in the AIM room writeover that I'm responsible for running. A sprint's ending and I need to call time. So, for now, I'm going to go and I hope you have a fantabulous day!
One more thing before I forget - check out Two to Write at
