WARNING: COMPLAINING AHEAD
E 314V- African American Literature and Culture. Dr. Meta Jones
I'll spare you my complaints about my professor for the moment, since I really need to get back to this essay. Sometime next week I'll post what will be my comments for the course evaluation.
We read a book (Sent For You Yesterday) and I hated it. I hate stream of consciousness books. William Faulkner is my kryptonite. Then we had to write a paper on it. The topics she assigned us were dumb, and I picked the one that I thought I could write the most on, despite the fact that none of them really inspired me. I struggled to write the 750 word minimum, but managed to pull through and turned in a solid B paper.
She didn't see it that way. I got an 80 on it, but I certainly deserved a high B. Everyone was unhappy with these papers, so she decided to give everyone a chance to edit and rewrite them. And by "rewrite", she means "double in length."
So here I sit, trying to add another 700 words to this already mediocre paper without completely throwing out all that I have written. I've added seven words.
This is highly depressing.
