So I ran out of Ratatissues, as the boy calls them. Back in August, my mother bought me tissues that came in a Ratatouille-print box, but now it's spent. (Actually, I may have a back-up, come to think of it.)
I have this sticky note on my wall right above my desk that says, "Page 94: There is no sense in loving someone you can never wake up to except by chance." Sort of a depressing thing, but actually, it makes me feel like I'm lucky.
It occurs to me that all of the things on my wall above my desk are sort of random. A construction-paper bat, a postcard from Barcelona, a picture of my family from probably ten years ago, a sticky note with "Ben: L/David: M/David: S/Erin: S" on it, a sticker from off some fancy chocolate that says "Desage" on it, my schedule, a note about Herbert West and Ceri (<3~), and a direct deposit form. Also a grocery list that with soap, toothbrush, lamp, and socks on it. I make very little sense, I guess?
Speaking of things that don't make sense, has anybody else noticed that the little paper slips in Hershey's Kisses now sport things like, "I Miss You," "Good Luck," and "Oops?" Whatever happened to the normal slips that just said (logically) "Kisses" on them? Nobody wants to sit down at their desk after a long day, pull out a chocolate, and see, "I Hate Mondays." If this keeps up, I think I'm going to have to resort to buying happier chocolates. Maybe ones shaped like kittens and bunnies. Bunnies are happy.
I still have the habit of running my hands through my hair and expecting a little more than what I've got. I've been told numerous times that it looks just fine, though, so I'll just sit tight and content myself with the knowledge that in a year it'll be six inches longer.
'til next time -- Shake it up, baby (twist and shout)!
