GAH!

Sometimes, I just do not understand how people think.

Every year, for the last 5 years, I have made 150 pounds of pasta salad and probably 10 gallons of baked beans for a fund raiser.  I donate all of my time and the food for this event.  I plan my entire school schedule in May around this event so I can do it.

I have also recruited a huge group of people to come to town to fish that weekend, so they can attend the event.  These people have money that they are willing and able to spend at the auction that accompanies the banquet.

This year, TPTB (a bunch of boys) have f****d off and not secured the venue.  Now, they are having the banquet/auction the weekend before the event weekend...and not in the same town....and at a place that is hard to find and is, frankly, icky.

The weekend they are now doing the banquet, I have to teach a class.  My pasta salad needs to be made the day of the event.  How in the crap am I supposed to do both?
 WTF.

eta:  They "forgot" about the work and timing of the pasta salad.  They "forgot" I have schools that I work around Troutfest.  They "forgot" to ask the person who provides half the food.  Sheesh.  That's what they said, "Oh, we forgot."

eta2: I was so pissed that I have taken the bull by the horns.  I have found a venue here on the same weekend as the actual event.   It is the field across from our shop; the owner will allow us to use it; I have gotten tents donated; I have gotten electricity and water donated; there are 50 parking spaces at my shop, another 25 at the post office, another 25 at the bank and probably another 100 at a shopping center all adjoining this field.  I am looking into portable refrigeration.  Now, if I can get them to agree that they were insanely stupid, we can move forward.

volunteer work, morons, stupid, food
