Long awaited update

So...I have just finished my "Official" week off of work.  I have worked 9 weeks straight with only 12 days off. That's insane. So this week has gone by very fast. I did have other things going on, such as doctor appointments, garage sales to man, oh...and my surgery. That pretty much took up a whole day though. I didn't do anything other than sleep, watch TV and listen to the girls drive my mom up the wall. Which was fairly entertaining. Beth was sweet enough to take me up to the office and sit around while I was knocked out and man handled. lol.  I barely remember anything...I think Beth molested me....but ehh..that's not a big deal.

So today has been another mile-stone in a way....I've officially started working on making my snitches. I did a few of them the other day and just kinda left them, I didn't time anything.

I found a lot more molds which means I can make a lot more now.  =)  Here's my work space..

See all my cool molds....I haven't counted all of them yet.

It took me about 10 minutes to get the wings made. That's only mixing the chemicals and then waiting patiently while the crap seeps slowly into the mold. It's a pain and it takes forever.

Once both sides get filled it takes about 2 hours for it to set up enough to be taken out of the mold.

Once they are out of the mold they have to be trimmed. I'm at a loss right now as to how I should do this. The other sets of wings that were already made were cut with scissors and it doesn't look the greatest. I'm going to use a few different ideas to see which works best. Right now i'm thinking that it will be easier to cut them before they set up anymore. But I might be wrong.

I'm currently timing the main part of the snitch to see how long that part takes to set up. I'm thinking it'll take longer since there's more to it then these simple thin wings.

I'll post the finished product so everyone can see them.

If anyone has any ideas on the best way to cut and sculpt the wings please let me know. They are a soft rubber polymer. I'm not sure the exact type...

Well...I think that's it for now. I'm gunna go lay down and wait for these to dry.
