Watching "Monsters Inside of Me" on Discovery Health when they go from talking about the Bot fly, which burrows into flesh to grow and breathes out of its ass (generally gross, but not gunna kill you) and then say "But HAY! It sure isn't as bad as the screw worm and you know the FUN PART about them? They live in North America, too!" Screw-worm flies lay their eggs in open wounds and then a few hours later the worms are hatched and they start eating at the warm gooey flesh (quickly and efficiently). They showed a picture of a foot with no toes from screw worms!
They forgot to mention that the screw worm was eradicated in 1982 in the US and in most of Central and South America in the mid '90s.
Bot flies live in the Tropics of South and Central America. Good thing I don't want to go there.
