So I came into the Weekly office, I'm going to miss it when Marissa comes back, but thats OK. Warren Miller & Ski Expo are going to be crazy & I worry cause I'm going to be in Boston for it so can't cover. I feel bad cause the street team is over budget, so I don't want to count hours, but its unfair that I'm counted as street team when I'm doing the coordinating too but not allowed to use those hours...don't worry, i'm off the clock now, I don't waste time.
Went to the Spotlight opening last night w/ Jen & reallly wasn't feeling it, they hired gorgeous girls to show up...and wear underwear...it was really unsettling...kinda like image whores I guess. Also the crowd was def. not my style. I did run into Claire though, so that made my day! Its been so long- good ol' figure drawing memories... After we'd had enough, Jen & I went to Waides Haitian bar oh god, it was sooo awsome..fried plantains & coconut mohitos & a small friendly crowd & dancing w/ Waide until the cops showed up.
HUGE shoutout to the Dem party- first female speaker of the house-Nancy Pelosi, my new heroine, the first Muslim governor & first Socialist Senator in Vermont & no more Rumsfeld, oh god, life is so fricken sweet I feel like I just got dumped in a vat of honey. Dems will rock the house. Bret sent me a text high-five when the results came in- hurrah. I'm trying to network w/ my roomate John who works for MoveOn & works w/ Greencorps people, but he's even busier than I am...hopefully he'll put in a good word for my anyway.
Watched Borat Wednesday w/ Brian & Megan..it was hilarious...yet terrifying...the sexist frat boys, super out for blood rodeo crowd & racist gun shop owners totally got to me. That was super scary.
My old roomie Mae's suppoused to come into town today...I hope so...but I work til 10ish...Also supposed to go to my friend Jenny's play Saturday w/ Bret & co, should be fun times. I still need to arrange Great Gatsby time w/ Steven, I don't know whats going on there- he's definatly my fav co-worker, but sometimes that kid is wiiiieeerd.
I think I'm going to go look into buying a suit for my interview...
