Did I disappoint you?

May 20, 2006 11:06

I've been apathetic, and part of it is just me going off into the wide world and not feeling like I had to write down things in my journal anymore. But so much has happened since my last entry, especially Latin Banquet yesterday, so I feel as if I should tell you guys.

Latin State - March 31st - April 1st
Jamie did NOT explode the toilet at our hotel, but it was remarkably low budget. I remember being zonked as hell when we had to get on the bus and zonked as hell on the way back. I got 7th in Ancient Geo and unfortunately, Jason got the same score as me. I also got 5th in Latin Oratory (quae cum ita sint, Catalina, dubitas si emori aequo animo non potest!) after only having the passage for about a week. Aside from that, Certamen got 3rd again. We almost got 2nd, but the asian team (I swear, only one of them spoke proper English) got two questions at the end which put them in 2nd place by very few points. Still, I felt a bit less upset this time around. And of course, super-Jamie got 1st again!

Octathlon - April 29th
Octathlon! We completely dominated with our very tiny team. Most teams had about 15 people there. Eh...we had 6, and then 5. That didn't stop John and I from getting golds in four different categories together. Everyone got a medal, except Jen because she missed the test she would have done very well on, and I got 2nd overall...by a margin of 45 points >:(. I screwed up a bit on Super Quiz because I was in such euphoria from being there. Regardless, it was very fun! Gold in Art, gold in Music, silver in Lang. Lit., silver in Science?!, bronze team medal and silver overall medal!

Arathi's Wedding - April 30th
It was so weird to see Arathi getting married, but the food was great. I ate seven or so jamuns and I'm still hungry for more three weeks later. Eh. Congratulations Arathi and Sandeep!

Latin Banquet - May 19th
It was a lot of fun. I wore the same dress I wore to Arathi's wedding and everyone thought it was pretty. Yay! They had some great cheesecake, crappy pasta, and the table setting was decent. I'm now an officer - the Webmaster - and I'm very excited. Jamie and I initially ran for Publicity Chair and Historian, but Rachel and Lillian will be able to do a better job of it because they're a little more prepared than we were. It doesn't mean we won't try to run on a double ticket again! A lot of people there weren't participating in the crazy dancing so I dragged Lisa, Jennifer, Lindsay, and sometimes Jamie into a group dance and it was a lot more fun than last year - it helps to have crazy friends! I MISSED 2 ON THE NLE BUT I STILL GOT A GOLD SO I AM HAPPY OKAY BYE!

But I'm still tired. And I absolutely love U2 now! Time to study for a hellish list of finals!

One love
One blood
One life
You got to do what you should

One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers

One life
But were not the same
We get to carry each other
Carry each other
