Write Every Day: Day #19

Dec 19, 2016 19:52

Lethargic, headache-y sort of day. I think most likely a cold bug is trying to get to me but not quite managing it, since yesterday I had a slightly sore throat, but I'm not really sick. It didn't exactly help that I tried going downtown to try to do things. I was feeling all kinds of hypersensitive (absolutely painful whenever someone had noisy ( Read more... )

Ack, that doesn't sound like fun. I hope you'll feel better soon!

I wrote a few lines in the waiting room a the doctor's this morning, so I'll check in now! Hopefully I'll get more done, though.

Better today, fortunately. It wasn't nearly as bad as when I've got a proper cold (I'm always so useless then), but unpleasant nevertheless.

Hope you got some more done, but yay for getting started in the morning already. :-)

Poor you, that doesn't sound nice! I hope this is soon over and you'll feel better. 300 words sound awesome or having such a cottonhead! *hugs*
For me was a good day today, despite sleeping far too little (darn those gripping books you can't put down! ;) ) and getting up far too late. I managed to spend a nice chunk of time with all of my current projects, and write about 600 words of the original Christmas story, which might even increase later tonight. I also agreed to pinch-hit for a Yuletide swap which is due on the 31st, so I have to get busy in the next days. *g*

Thanks! It wasn't nearly as bad as when I'm properly sick, but it does seem that the brain can get stuffy even when the nose isn't. ;-) Fortunately I'm better today - a bit headachy in the morning, but it's better now. Sounds like you had a good day writing, good luck with all your projects! And sometimes it's so nice to stay up late reading something you can't put down, even if you regret it the next day. *g*

Glad to hear you're feeling better! :o)
The dang thing with reading too long into the night is that I'm too old now to compensate even one night, and this has been the fourth in a row... *coughs* And even one night already throws my sleeping pattern off again. I'm severely insomniac with badly shifted sleeping patterns, and sticking to a halfway reasonable sleeping pattern is absolutely necessary so I remain functional. It's a continuous struggle, though, and I should really know better, but I'm still giving in far too often to the allure a story I absolutely need to read. *sigh* ;o)

I understand, it sounds familiar. I also have a lot of problems with sleeping - insomnia is my default way to react to everything, especially stress, and throwing off my sleeping patterns isn't good. But sometimes it's so hard to resist the allure of a story... The last year, I've been so screwed up with my sleep because of stress, that compared to that one night of bad sleep feels tolerable... but only in comparison. Definitely not able to deal with lack of sleep the way I could when I was 20. :-P

Good luck at fixing your sleep!

I hope you're feeling better. Had to drive over 200 miles so I only got a few sentences but spent a lot of that time working on plot points in my head.

Thanks, fortunately I am. :-) And it's great when you can use otherwise not-so-productive time to think about your writing.
