Social Ocean and a bag of condoms
I spent a few hours with Jacob at Social Ocean today. We were just talking and catching up. After a few hours, some people walked by and handed me a bag. The people were with AIDS Care Ocean State in Providence. They were passing out free condoms. They were also spreading the news that they give free condoms as well as clean needles and free (anonymous) HIV and Hep. C tests at their center. They said to spread the news, so..I have now. But, the funny thing about it (and there aren't usually too many funny things having to do with AIDS) was that when I looked through my little bag of condoms, I found Durex Maximum Love, Lyfestyle Mint flavored, and-best of all- a little plastic pillow of lubrication. It just didn't seem like the bare minimum "Don't get AIDS bag." It was more of a "Have alot of fun!!! try not to get aids...bag." It just seemed kind of strange.
