In Uniform For The Last Time...
TO ALL MY "Ra Ra" GIRLS:
Ever since I was like eight (or mayb smaller than that), after goin to a Hanks cheer camp I decided I want to b a Hanks High School cheerleader. My whole reason for y I went to this school was the cheer squad. My freshman yr, despite strict preparation for try-outs I failed to make it...
So I joined a all-star squad and continued gymnastics determined that I would do whatever it took to make it on the Hanks' squad. And I did make it my sophmore yr.
AT THE END...
After about 5yrs (mayb more) of CHEERLEADING BEING:
MY LIFE, the bane of my EXISTENCE, & mostly my WORLD...
I ended up being the staying and only Senior that had stay for 3yrs.
Sometimes to be honest it made me feel totally ancient & at times lonely...
Feeling sometimes like I had to fight for everthing that came so easy for everyone else, and inch of ground that I managed to gain over the years.
At the same time, I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER ENDING to this great adventure.
Starting off in the roughest of circumstances, ending with what can only b described as a HAPPY ENDING to a long uphill battle for me.
Honestly their can b ALOT of things to b said for the people I have met along the way, but let me say this...
As I sat there on the flight back to El Paso I realized, (Yes, I must admit eyes full of tears and all.) I AM TRULY GONNA MISS IT, and cherish all of the things I have learned and memories I have made over this long journey.
And in that moment, I COULD NOT ASK FOR BETTER GIRLS to experience the tail end of my high school cheer ride with...
Sad and happy ALL AT THE SAME TIME, along with "sweet relief"...
I'm dealting with letting go...
But I will always remember how IN THAT MOMENT...
(The only things running though my mind a few moments before I stepped on that blue mat for my last performance ever and stepped on the plane from Vegas was:)
"I LOVE THESE GIRLS AND AM TRULY HAPPY & PROUD JUST TO HAVE BEEN PART OF SUCH A TEAM!"
And I mean that w/ all of my heart...
I am gonna do my best to not b like all those other I have seen come and go. I will do my best to leave my mark in the most positive way I can. Always here if ya guys need me, and always hopefully a teammate for life that ya can count on...
MY ONLY OTHER WISH...
IS THAT I HAVE ADDED SOMETHING TO THE SQUAD THAT REALLY MATTERED TO SOMEONE, AND THAT I AM FONDLY REMEMBERED FROM TIME TO TIME.
I won't ever forget how it felt to be apart of the team of champions that took Las Vegas by storm on March 4, 2006.
I ACCOMPLISH WHAT I SET OUT TO DO, NO REGRETS.
(Lol. Cuz this isn't the end, it's just a new beginning...)
