OOC: character info dump
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy? A bit on the short side - about 5'4", and average weight for that height. That's her "default" look.
2. How old is she? 23 at the time she came to Luceti, but since her birthday is in December, in Luceti-time she is 24 by now I suppose.
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch? She's a bit slouchy sometimes, except when she feels threatened, intimidated, or if she's angry.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities? She's a trained Auror, so she's very physically fit, with no disabilities or illnesses to speak of. She could beat most average humans up, if she wanted to and didn't trip over herself in the process.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid? Incredibly clumsy. Tonks is a major hazard around knicknacks.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror? TBA: this will be an essay.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred? Pale. She's English.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style. "Naturally": mousy brown, a bit dull, straight and stringy. But very few people ever see her like that. Usually her hair is brightly colored (she favors pink but it'll often change with her mood) and she'll do it up in all sorts of weird styles.
9. What color are her eyes? "Naturally": gray. But most people see her "default" eye color as hazel. Though sometimes she'll change this, too.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features? She's a Metamorphmagus. She has whatever features she wants to have at any given time.
11. What are her chief tension centers? The small of her back.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit? She's a punk. She wears bright colors, crazy stuff, she almost never looks the same way twice.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them? Well enough, sure. She's not very comfortable in her own skin (comes with being able to change her dimensions so much), but her clothes are very much a reflection of her personality.
14. Does she dress the same on the job as she does in her free time? If not, what are the differences? On the job, she wears her Auror's robes. Off the job, she doesn't. That's about it.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando? Nothing particularly exciting, just brightly colored, like the rest of her clothes.
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse? Um, a girl? Nothing particularly noteworthy.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate? Relatively fast - she likes to talk, and is a generally chatty person, but she's not loud.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics? She speaks like a mid-90s middle-class Londoner!
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency? Just English, and a bit of Latin (most magical spells are Latin)
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations? Nope, though she does use a fair amount of British slang. Feel free to be confused by this.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words? She doesn't, as a rule, plan ahead for anything.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change? I wouldn't call her "eloquent", but she's very chatty.
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart? She's very clever, but she doesn't have a lot of patience for lots of books, so her smarts are mostly on the "street" side - she got good marks at Hogwarts, she had to in order to get into Auror training, but she prefers the kind of street smarts required in a fight.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate? Thinking on her feet, always. She's quite clever and quick-witted.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical? Very intuitive, very idealistic, almost to a fault. She's capable of logic and rationality, but only when they aren't in conflict with her feelings.
4. What kind of education has the character had? Seven years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, one of the best magical schools in Europe (and arguably the world), plus a further three years of intensive Auror training.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about? Auror-ly stuff. Law enforcement, defense against the dark arts, transfiguration are her big things. She's a good fighter and a good duelist if she doesn't trip over herself. Her interests cover a wide variety of topics, though - she's very curious about the world around her in general.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert? Very, very extroverted. She thrives on socialization.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven? Moody, very moody. Tonks is usually quite cheerful, but if she get stressed out enough her mood can take a serious tumble into depression. This has happened a couple of times in her life, and it's never pretty when it does.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic? Tonks is enthusiastic about everything, and it shows when she's meeting new people.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
10. Which is her default: fight or flight? Tonks is a fighter, always. She never turns her back on an enemy.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks? She has a great sense of humor, appreciating all kinds of good-natured jokes. Dark humor, word-plays and such will often fly over her head, but she loves a good prank.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them? No.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person? TBA - this will be an essay.
14. What does she fear? Her biggest fears all center around her loved ones being hurt or killed. That's really the only thing she's afraid of.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations? To be the BEST AUROR EVER. Also, someday to have a family.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her? Nothing. No, really, Tonks doesn't have secrets about herself. She'll keep secrets for others, but there's nothing about herself that she keeps secret.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents. Solid. She loves and depends on her parents, as she does with anyone in her life that she cares about. Tonks is really focused on her loved ones.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like? She's an only child.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand? Sirius is was her cousin and BFF. Annnnnd her relations with the rest of the Black family (her mother's side) are... less than amiable. Most of them would quite literally like to murder Tonks.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them? Yes. Anyone Tonks cares about, she considers family.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet? Tonks doesn't really have best friends, per se. When she likes you, she loves you, unconditionally. That said, Remus is probably the closest to her at this point.
6. Does she have other close friends? Yeah. Anyone she considers a friend is "close".
7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people? Absolutely she makes friends easily. It's what she does.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends? They are of completely equal importance to Tonks. As I said, she loves unconditionally.
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once? She's married.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse? No. She's in love with her husband.
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest? ... Remus, and Remus. Really.
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner? She has honestly never considered this question. She just goes with her gut.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any? No kids yet, but she would love some eventually.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies? Sure. Anyone who aligns themself with Voldemort is her mortal enemy.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale? She's pretty straight. I doubt she's ever even thought about being attracted to a woman, because it's never happened. If it happened, she'd think about it, but it's very unlikely to happen at this point.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her? Mostly her thoughts on sex are, it's fun, and it's even more fun when it's with someone you really care about. She's not a terribly sexual person.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?
4. Besides the basic necessities, what does she spend her money on?
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
