I've always wanted to do one of these. I think they're rather neat.
Okay, so, in honor of aestusargenteus's thesis, I've decided that clearly, the best thing I can do right now is distract her so her brain doesn't explode. (Because obviously being a procrastinatory enabler is the smart thing to do right now. Sorry, Aestus! I seriously thought this might help.)
Anyway, I'll be posting "Five Times Mat and Quentan Never Met" for the next five days. The posts will be on tastelikeapples, but I'll do a master list and link to them here.
Five Times Mat and Quentan Never Met

Suffer the Children. At age six. Mat's mother and grandfather get killed by the demon instead of Quentan's parents. Star Shadow has to figure out what to do with a Destructive Power too young for them to control. [Natalya's POV.]
What You Can Do. At age thirteen. Peter Campbell contracts demonologist Marie Decourdes as a teacher for his ward. Offering her daughter a place in Star Shadow is the carrot. Marie provides the stick. [Marie's POV.]
Bare Your Teeth. At age twenty-one. Michael Hawthorne steps aside, and Quentan assumes Star Shadow's leadership. Obviously, the first thing he does to celebrate is get drunk at Wolf. The bartender's adopted daughter thinks he's cute. [Paul's POV.]
Play by the Rules. At age thirty-two. Travis Murdoch is a low-maintenance background kind of guy. Unfortunately, his protege is the FBPSI's whiz kid, and they only get sent out on the really high-profile cases. Arresting coven leader Quentan Hawthorne definitely qualifies. [Travis's POV.]
What He would have Wanted. At age forty-nine. Life is a terminal condition. When you've grown up with the entire supernatural community at your beck and call, it's still a surprise to see who shows up at your father's funeral. [Rowan's POV.]
