Viper Events - Hot and Not

Cut for the disinterested...

Hot:

Glorious weather
Barnswood being very pretty in the spring (if a bitch to get to!)
Seeing friends, meeting new people, and catching up with people I hadn't seen for ages
The very impressive catering - good solid, no-nonsense, on time, fair portions, and the joy of green stuff in a field!
A great bunch of people (old and new) to monster and staff with - you were all great to hang out with!
Getting a good variety of stuff to do, especially for someone no longer heavy combat capable
Getting my mojo back on Sunday morning

Not:

Knowing my hubby wasn't having a a good time
Late night mass combat which actually had me so (OOC) frightened I had to bug out
Getting hit so hard by one polearm user that I still have bruised knuckles
Having a gentle chat with the person involved the next morning and them not having the courtesy for it to occur to them to apologise
Still hurting from the level of walking/uneven terrain (but that may just be my present lack of fitness).

Hot and Not:

Planning out the wedding and getting all frocked up (the hot bit). Deciding halfway through running it out that only about 5 players were enjoying it, and the rest looked bored rigid (the not bit).

I'm glad I didn't play the event, I wouldn't have coped with the amount of walking on that terrain, even with it described as 'not a Rambler's Guild event'. I also would have had naff all to do (as I expected). Still writing campaign events for non-combat ritualists must be nothing short of a nightmare!
