On my way to work, I pass a posh private nursery. This is on a wide road, with a 40mph speed limit.
It appears that the parents dropping off their little darlings think parking their chelsea tractors directly outside, on both sides of the road, is the way forward. This morning I drove past, to be met by a BMW driver easily doing 50mph. He swerved out wide, onto my side of the road, to pass the parked cards on his side. I pulled in, clipping my wing mirror against the wing mirror of one of the parked cars.
It really annoys me that I was under the speed limit and watching where I was going, but the driver behaving like a knob wasn't the one knocking on the nursery door to apologise and swap details. I know it's only 2 wing mirrors, and even they weren't that bad (new glass and covers as opposed to all new wing mirrors), but it's annoying none the less.
However, I've seen a dozen or so similar near-misses in the last few months. Should I contact the council about the parking problem (ie the parents parking on each side of the road)?
What would you do?
