Gossip Girl/Battlestar Galactica, Nate Archibald/Samuel T. Anders, Adrenalinecut_thestringMarch 13 2011, 12:59:49 UTC
I haven't watched Gossip Girl in a while, so sorry for any OOC-ness!
When they first meet, Sam's blasting the head off a zombie behind him, the bullets whizzing past inches from his face.
After a quick, stunned look behind and a wide-eyed thanks, Nate tucks into a forward army roll and narrowly avoids the swinging axe of a nearby zombie, all the while reloading his handguns and planning his next shot. When the two of them finally finish off the relatively small group of undead with little complications, they're both breathing heavily and still pumped with adrenaline.
"I'm Nate," he says, stowing one of his guns in the back of his pants and extending a hand.
"Sam," the stranger offers in return, grasping the younger man's hand firmly.
"Thanks again, for before."
"Don't worry about it. I was searching for supplies in Woolworths when I saw you," he says, nodding at the half-collapsed building to their right. "On the off-chance the rats hadn't gotten to it yet."
"Any luck?"
"No." Sam doesn't seem disappointed by it, but looks at Nate curiously. "Have you been surviving by yourself?"
"Mostly. I had a few friends travelling with me a while back, but they're--" the words stick in his throat, "--they're gone, now."
Sam nods, eyes sympathetic, but he doesn't probe further. "Where are you headed?"
Nate shrugs, toying with the trigger of his other pistol absent-mindedly. "Wherever. North, I think. Anywhere there's life."
"Well, a group of us are going to Boston to hopefully meet up with some others, and then into Canada, where we've heard there's a real resistance going on. You can join us, if you want."

This is awesome! I don't actually know either of these fandoms (which is what's great about this meme) but I love zombie aus, and I really enjoyed this.

Nate can't help but grin. "Sure."
