With a 6-3 road win over the Colorado Rockies, the Redbirds have clinched the NL Central title, and thus a playoff spot.
While the New York Yankees wrapped up a playoff berth earlier, and Da Bums in LA also clinched a playoff berth today, the Cardinals are the first team to claim a division crown. As things now stand, St. Louis (90-65) would host the Phillies (89-65), while Da Bums (93-62) would host the Colorado Rockies (record irrelevant, as they'd be the Wild Card). There's still some baseball left in the regular season, though, so stay tuned for further developments....
