So I've begun re-watching the anime Simoun. It's a very wonderful yuri/drama/a little bit of mecha anime. I had forgotten how much I love it. <3
The basic premise is that every person in Daikuuriku (The world) is born female, and when they reach their 17th birthday they get to decide whether they want to be male or female for the rest of their lives. Girls who have not decided yet can be Simoun sibylae, pilots of flying machines called Simoun. There are three countries, and they are all at war with eachother, over various things including technology and religion. A sibyla's trip to the spring (where they choose their permanent gender) can be postponed in wartime. In fact, some of the sibyla do not want to go to the spring at all, so there is some of the conflict in the plot.
Anyhow, watching yuri anime always gets to me in a way I think that no other type can. It gives me an intense sense of sympathy for the characters. If any of you would like to learn more about Simoun, here's a good place to do so:
