Adventures of Aurican and Kitten: Pt 1

Jun 01, 2011 17:20

So Sunday me and Kitten went to the flea market in Sumpter, Or (http://www.sumpter.org/menu/sumpter_fleamarkets.html). It was a long drive to and back, but overall we had a fun time. There was a bitterly cold wind however and we forgot our jackets, so we were freezing. We went to eat at the only restaurant in Sumpter, a place called Borello's, because by the evening we were pretty hungry. Their menu was very expensive for the quality of dishes. We excused ourselves politely and drove back to Baker (on our way) to eat at Sumpter Junction (A restaurant Kitten knew about). They had ribeye steak and all you can eat shrimp for 17.95. The steak was the best steak I have had in years, and the shrimp was good after you peeled the batter off. In the end we ate them out of shrimp, which I thought was a glorious achievement.

The ordeal of Kitten's car is finally nearing a close I hope. Long story short; after buying a vehicle, we lost contact of the vendor for a long while. Finally, got ahold of them and got the process moving along. Another long wait, apparently the moving company waited a long time to ship the vehicle so they could load a truck full to go to Portland, and it took them a lot longer than normal. Finally vehicle is 'on the way', a decent wait later and we hear that the truck is broken down one state over (and of course over the Memorial Day weekend). Come today and finally the car gets into town. The driver couldn't find the meeting location, so we ended up picking it up elsewhere in town.

In other news, work sucks as normal, hoping for my pay raise that is dangling just a shy two hour test away. The trick is, I have to be scheduled for it, and we are short on hours, so my manager is balking. I will keep on his heels and hopefully get it soon. Things are mostly good otherwise.

My pal has 4 tickets to PaizoCon (June 10th-12th) and it seems that not many of us ended up with free time to go. So if you have the will / means to go, shoot an email to my buddy grimmmage@hotmail.com and work out some details.

Peace for now and hopes for a brighter near future.
