Just plain tired

Mike came home on Friday - he walked in the door at 7pm. Much later than either of us had anticipated. Eileen did't get to go to her preteen dance - but enjoyed cuddling with daddy instead. She had a party at the youth centre on Saturday - so she had a good Valentine's day. Mike and I spent most of Saturday evening cleaning the puke off the couch - Tynan came down with a vicious stomach flu. It was projectile - he got really good distance. We got him up to bathe him 4 times during the night and had to change his sheets, pillows, and his teddy. LOTS of laundry happened. He seemed fine Sunday morning.....
Mike and I were wondering what the sudden, really bad odour was - we were ready to blame the cat. We went around sniffing, trying to figure out where it was coming from. Mike discovered it first - Tynan! It was diarrhea - EVERYWHERE. Tynan was trying to clean it up himself. He thought he would be in trouble, poor mook.
So Mike was already tired - he had a sinus infection and fluid filled lung for the trip with not much sleep on top of that. We didn't sleep much this weekend either. I'm certain we'll have a better week.
Our computer died this weekend as well - the power supply died and the video card is fried. So we are going to try to get a new power supply and a fan next weekend. The video card will have to wait for when we actually have money. Right now I am on Tynan's laptop. (gift for the boy from my dad when we moved)

Now for some good stuff....
Mike DID get home. Yay! We were missing him.
I finished the picture I was painting for my sister for her birthday. (March 1st) Unfortunately I don't have any money to get it framed. It will be late - but she will get it.
I hemmed 4 pairs of jeans for Eileen - so now she has pants to wear. They fit in the waist but were 3 inches too long. If I waited until they fit her in the length, they would no longer fit over her bum. My daughter is not built like a young boy - and all clothes made for her age group are made for children with no shape whatever. My daughter has no spare weight on her. She's active, and happy. I will not starve her so that she looks like a toothpick. Even if I did - she would still have the hips and rounded bum, it's just how she's made. (apologies, had to vent!) As for putting a hem in them that I can later let out - too much hem! I don't like the look of great big rolls at the bottom of the pants. So I cut them off and hemmed. (several people had suggested I just roll the pants up.) Anyway, it made me feel useful and productive to get them done and off my sewing table.
Today I'm going to make some lounging pants for mike - I have a really keen piratey print to use, and they will match Tynan's.

Saturday, the 21st is my birthday. We are not doing anything for my birthday - except Mike is making me cheesecake. So if you want to stop by Saturday evening there will be coffee/tea and lots of cheesecake. Mike does exceptional cheesecake. Seriously. I'll be 37. I don't know where the past 15 years have gone. Wasn't I 22 and just moving out on my own a short time ago? I hope I'm like fine wine......
