[There is a pair of voices, loud enough for the journal to pick up but too far away to make out. This goes on for a few minutes before sounds of movement are heard. The two voices become distinct, growing louder as the speakers move nearer the journal.]

...I'm fine. [a well-timed pause] It's just that...never mind. I apologize for worrying you.

[ingratiatory]

There is nothing to apologize for. I am willing to listen if something is troubling you.

[aureatus]

I was thinking about my world. I don't know if I can ever return to it.

[ingratiatory]

An understandable concern. And, forgive me if I'm wrong, you have been here for nearly four months, yes...?

[aureatus]

That is correct.

[another pause]

Have you been here long? Your face is unfamiliar.

[ingratiatory]

I arrived but a few days ago.

[aureatus]

I see. Have you settled in?

[ingratiatory]

I have, if a bit haphazardly.

[aureatus]

Oh? Would you like to tell me what happened?

[ingratiatory]

That's quite all right. I would hate to seem too woeful. While the situation is not bright here, I do not find it particularly bleak either.

[aureatus]

Your optimism is admirable.

[ingratiatory]

I found it is best to retain a positive mindset whilst working towards a goal.

[aureatus]

I agree. Perhaps if everyone had that attitude, we would have a chance to return home.

I'm sure we all have the chance nonetheless, it is only a matter of time.
