The cold weather and dry air have been playing havoc with my sinuses for weeks. I have been eating decongestants like candy, which is probably not a great idea. In an attempt at a nonpharmaceutical remedy, I've just bought and used a neti pot.

Ewwww! All I could smell aftewards was that aweful salty stuff they have you mix with the water... maybe next time I'll use less of it and it won't be so bad. But doesn't your head feel better now? Mine did.

I've never been brave enough to try it. Maybe it's because I almost drowned once. For me, water in the nose makes me cringe. As bad as my sinuses are I should probably try it but....

I had a couple of bad underwater experiences too, when I was a kid, so I was not at all happy about the idea of trying this. But fear is just information, right? =B^)

It worked well for me. At the very least everything is a lot more hydrated, so I can blow my nose without having it crack and bleed. This is a big improvement.
