First of all, Save-On is pissing me off. They're going on strike, now they're not going on strike. Gah! Make up your fucking mind! Their cashiers are in the same union as us. Techinically, we were working without a contract for awhile, because we were keeping an eye on what Save-On was doing. I guess they get scared, and that's why we got the raise to 10.15 an hour, 10.00 for new hires. I believe we're still without a contract, but like we're going to go on strike after that. Pshaw! Save-On, on the other hand...Jimmy Patteson (you know, big fucking millionaire and owner of Save-On) asked for a mediator to be appointed to their talks on Friday morning. Save-On had already put in their 72 hour perishable notice and was going to go out Saturday at 6:00 pm. Now they can't. I'm on the belief that it was just for the long weekend. I'm betting that the mediator gets yanked, Jimmy says "take the deal, or shove it up your ass", and another 72 hour perishable notice gets released.
Regardless, these have been the busiest four days I have ever seen. Almost all of Squamish was sold out of water and ice. Seriously. The whole town. 'Cause, you know, heat wave and all. zomg, the sun is out! These two days off I have now have never been so fucking awesome.
Oh! And in other news, my mother actually bought a cell phone. Yes, that's right. A cell phone. The woman who said she would never own one. Heh. (Note to self: must call Telus in ten minutes).
But the real oddness? Yesterday, at work, as I was closing, the manager on that night (I rarely work with him), brought me a beer during the close. No, really. A beer. Odd in itself. And then invited me over to his place after I was done. Um...I didn't go, for one. But then he walked me home. I still can't seem to wrap my head around this.
And next on the medical front, ultrasound! And then a camera down my throat! That's false enthusiasm, people. Don't wanna!
...yeah, I think I'm done rambling now. Congratulations, you're offically caught up.
