dc++

Three years ago or so, I cut my anime habit cold-turkey (not by choice, mind). This was tremendously good for my grades, and I have been relatively clean ever since -- that is, until I came to college and discovered DC++. This thing has every last bit of electronically transferable media I could ever want and then some I don't: all sorts of music, movies (american, foreign, everything), entire seasons of television shows, scanslations, math problem solution sets, etc, etc -- EVERYTHING! Oh, and I should not forget to mention this is all available at incredible lightning speeds; I mean, I've downloaded whole movies in three minutes or less. Your average mp3? Less than a second.

So I download like the poor media-starved child I am. Before starting last, last weekend, I didn't even have the prerequisite 1 gig of media to share (I cheated at first with some program files). About an hour after first setting up DC++, I had 40 gigs.

After downloading everything non-anime from Doug (does anyone else remember that show??) to House, at least a dozen movies, and a whole lot of music, I curiously downloaded a couple episodes of Ouran Koukou Host Club. Cue: untimely demise of my budding college career.

I mean, I liked the manga when I bought it a couple years ago, so I thought I might try a couple episodes to see what everyone's raving about. It was just... so accessible! It only took a couple seconds, so I figured, why not, right? I didn't really care to watch until just yesterday. I was rapidly running out of ways to distract myself from the mountain of homework looming over my printer and thought I might just watch an episode or two as quick, easy, painless diversion. Sixteen episodes later, I started to notice the watching/downloading pattern was getting kind of unhealthily obsessive.

Scores are as follows:
Ouran ~ +21 episodes
My Chem Grade ~ +1 impending midterm fail :x

BUT IT'S SO GOOD!!!! ;A;!!!
