Took a four-hour practice test yesterday at school, it was freezing but I think I did really well - which was, you know, a given, because of course practice tests don't count for anything except for possibly an ego boost.
Then went to go decorate for prom with Andrea, Cate, Robert, and Stephanie; we had the soundtrack of Rent on full max, and I mean, we could have been BMM BMM BMMing down that road if Andrea had sub-woofers or whatever. It was fun because everyone was singing (singing! Despite self-consciousness!) except, pretty much, for me and Stephanie. I really, really wanted to, and did for a few of the refrains; but otherwise it's hard to sing your heart out when you don't know the lyrics. To days of inspiration playing hooky making something out of nothing the need to express, to communicate, to going against the grain going insane going MAD -
I love Rent. (Oh no...?) Mimi is my favorite. <3 De seemed disgusted when I mentioned this to him (the fact that we were a small car chock full of Broadway-belting teenagers singing about living the Bohemian life, I mean, not the fact that my favorite character is a junkie stripdancer with AIDs), but then I told him that one of the songs toasted dildos, and he seemed more interested. I even got him to listen to it. (I think?)
Prom decorating was really nice. My idea to put the white tullestuff over the Christmas lights on the pillars in the dancing room. Robert's idea (encouraged by contagious OCD) to make it so the Christmas lights went up, down, up, down, up, down, spiraling all the way up the pillar. Came home depressed and hungry for company, though, thinking of all the people in pretty dresses dancing amongst the bouquets of daffodils and tulips, amongst the shiny gold stringy stuff and balloons and candles...saw some Promites this morning and they said hoarsely, "Oh yeah, it was beautiful, God I'm so tired."
