Monthly update
Well, so much for posting here more. Maybe if there was more going on. Everything's been coasting this month in a comfortable laid back way. Aside from taxes. I owed a lot. Sigh. Still have to pay my CA taxes from Further Confusion. Hehheh. I think they're due Monday. oups.
It's been a nice way to end my 29th year.
Mom is coming to town for my Birthday. I don't have anything planned for the big 30 since our trip to Europe fell through. My finances have been getting me down. So has the weather. It's awesome one day and shitty the next.
I will be going to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival on Sunday, May 1st if it's not pouring out. I tend to see everyone there anyway. My actual birthday is April 29th, which is a Friday. Last year I had fun at a beer garden celebrating with friends, turning 29 on the 29th!
Tomorrow I'm going to see the Mets play against the Diamond backs with friends and my BF. I didn't realize it was Easter until after I got the tickets so we had to do some people shuffling. It will be more of my friends meeting Darren's friends for the first time. This makes me a little anxious. I'll have fun and drink beer regardless, but I still want everyone to have fun since it was my idea in the first place.
Part of me wants to brush up my portfolio and look for more freelance gigs, and another part says to concentrate on finishing a huge kids book project I'm months behind on. I get paid on it in installments. So if I devote most of my time to finishing it the pay will even out to an average weekly paycheck.
I've found myself wanting to take less furry commissions. I have an urge to just draw furry art for gifts to friends and artists with cool characters. Also, to work on my comic. I want more time to ink and shade the pages. Manga studio is not speeding things up like I hoped it would. Maybe I need to find an instruction book or watch some tutorials for it on youtube. I'm mostly worried about the size of the pages for print. I'm using Ka-Blam's manga template. but I still can't get it to line up right in manga studio and see what I'm doing and importing sketches to ink in manga studio isn't working either.
