Times Square was packed! Everyone booed for Bush, cheered for Obama, and giggled at Rev. Rick Warren. I was too excited to sleep much the night before and standing in the cold for three hours made me feel pretty sick. I spent the rest of the day napping between packing and watching the rest of the inaugural activities on TV.
All of the commercials were about the history of products and community service. Very cool!
The Daily Show made sure to point out that
the words spoken by Obama were also said by Bush. But Obama really means what he says, right? Only time will tell, but for the moment, they certainly sound more believable when Obama says them.
I'm only a few pages away from finishing
Dreams From My Father which has me believing Obama more strongly than I ever did with Bush.
I also learned a little about the old era of my street. I'm at
44th street and Broadway in Queens
