Coffee-pot cosy

Jun 06, 2009 20:58

Finished this today, after unpicking the first attempt to add ribbing in a different yarn, because I didn't have quite enough of the main one!

That's lovely!!

nice sheen and lovely fit.

I've got the 2nd cashmere glove, 3 socks, a lace shawl and a blanket on the needles right now or I'd hop in and see if I could make a cosy now. LOL thanks for the inspiration.

Uncanny. I started looking for the piece of paper with the details of the fake cable pattern half an hour ago, came to the computer because I thought it was next to it (it was) ... and spotted your comment.

G'wan, you know you wanna make one. It only takes a couple of hours... *g*

LOL

You temptress you! I have to look at my stash and see what jumps out. Actually -- I really need a tea cosy for my BIG teapot. Got a favorite pattern?

Not really ... but EQUALLY UNCANNILY, I was just discussing yesterday with another online knitting friend the feasibility of turning my Dalek Hat pattern into a teacosy... (Basically, knit the vertical 'ribbing' single thickness, then divide for spout/handle at centre front and centre back through the horizontal stripes.)

You don't know anyone that regularly buys the Lorna's Laces special colours do you? I was going to buy Twilight - shepherds sock weight as promised for Roberta and we miss it :( I feel bad and can't find it -- Ravelry, Ebay, all the regular suspects. It's the January 2010 limited edition colourway.

Alas, we rarely see the Lorna's Laces yarns ANYWHERE over here. Occasionally a shop, or a stall at a knitting/stitching show, will have, maybe, one or two lines in a few colours. But not reliably, not often. telynor might know, if anyone over here does...
