Gay Student Faces Deportation to Iran and execution.........Re-post and Link

Mar 12, 2008 00:23

Just caught this from Ginmar's journal and think it is too important not to respond to. FYI, here is the post and some links.

Britain and the Netherlands want to send young man home to Iran to be executed

Britain says "Homosexuals in Iran aren't routinely persecuted solely for their sexual preference." So they're trying to send Mehdi Kazemi back to face certain execution.

It's time for another internet campaign, folks. We need to stop this from happening. It's not Iran we're dealing with; it's two supposedly civilized Western countries. There's no excuse for this shit.

Here's the contact information for the British Home Office. Be polite, be calm, and spread it around. There's no time to lose.

Here's a site for The Netherlands. IF anyone has a better one, let me know.

Please repost, link, spread it around.

Our mandate is to protect the public, regardless of their race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age. Promoting equality and diversity is a duty the entire UK government takes very seriously. It is a responsibility shared by all government departments.

(Politely remind them of their mandate).

BHO Asylum and Immigration Tribunal is most likely to be the best place to post a message of support to prevent this young man from being deported to Iran. http://www.bia.homeoffice.gov.uk/asylum/outcomes/unsuccessfulapplications/appeals/system/ You can check the Times Online article (above) that has the man's name and details of situation.
