Homemade Pickles

Two recipes in one day. But I want to remember how to make these pickles. They're very tasty. (I'm a man who loves his pickles.)

I'm trying to remember the exact amount of vinegar I used. I think it was something like 3 or 4 parts water to 1 part white vinegar. (Do it to taste.) Pour a cup of vinegar into the bowl and slowly add water, tasting it along the way until it seems like the right amount of sourness.

I put the water vinegar mixture in pan with 1 tsp each of the following spices:
salt, black peppercorns, coriander seeds, mustard seeds, dill, and bay leaf.

I brought it to a boil and poured it over a bowl of cucumber spears, onion slices, banana pepper, and 6 dried red chilies.

After 2 days, it's ready to eat. (It was so worth it getting pepper oil in my eye for this.)
