My heart aches for the families affected by this morning's awful and senseless shooting in Squirrel Hill. The Tree of Life Synagogue is within walking distance of both work and home for me, a place I've walked past more times than I can count.
I'm sad and angry and wondering when enough will be enough. We need to find better ways to address bigotry, racism, and the sense far too many people seem to have that the best way to deal with their discomfort in the world is to shoot the people that are different from them, or the people that make them feel uncomfortable.
