it's been pouring (with occasional slacking off) since yesterday afternoon. it smells so good! i love it! and the rain let loose just as Miss Moon went to waving her red flag. such synchronicity.
the garden is happy, the trees are audibly sighing with relief. fruit on the plum and pear trees are ripe and fat. blackberries drip from their stickery vines. i sit in the window seat with my teacup and fresh hot banana bread and listen to it pour down, tinkling in my ears like tiny bells. breathing in the sweet green smell of the earth waking up after a long hot sleep.
