Bram 17 Months

This was literally the only picture from the past few days where Bram would look at the camera for more than a few seconds. My phone's camera is not very fast so I have a whole ton of Bram with a crazy smeared face, and this lone pic documenting his 17 month-ness.

Yesterday morn was Eli's friend birthday party. I have to say (and judge me as you will) that I have only had four parties total for all of my kids combined--two each, including the one yesterday. They've just never asked and I haven't really offered so it is what it is.

Mat basically did most of Eli's party yesterday. It was a jungle dinosaur theme. We had a small dino craft made out of a paper plate (all prepared by Mat), a crazy dino-spotting nature walk (done by Mat, created by Mat), pin the skull on the dinosaur bones (from the party store), and homemade volcanos (by Mat). I did the decorating, purchasing, and made the epic cake with a big old toy dinosaur and dollar store greenery on top. (I did wash it all beforehand, thankyouverymuch). it was pretty cool and the kids loved it. I was there the whole time, of course, chaperoning and doing everything whereas Mat provided the fun. That may describe our life, I think.

Eli's friends were great. They all brought him Legos, which he loved, and they had such a good time. I wasn't sure who would all come because Eli had to pass out a few invitations at school and I'm not exactly sure how that all went (his stories about it were very strange and confusing), but our few little neighborhood friends came and that was just the perfect amount. Any more and it would have been crazy. Eli was happy and we're happy it's over.
