The Peace

Well, Eli is officiall a kindergartner. He actually started last week (which is so lame considering the holiday and all) and he was super.excited. He's been waiting forever and I personally think he would be fine going all day, but he qualified for half day (as I knew he would), so I'm happy with that. I'm actually glad it's only half day. He's my little comrade when Gabe goes to school, whereas Bram is my little menace. Eli will sometimes play with Bram, but he's not trustworthy to leave alone quite yet as he can sometimes get a little rough. He talks so well and plays so well with older kids that I often forget he's only five.

Gabe is loving second grade, but I forgot over the summer what it's like to have a kid going to school. For one thing, he hears words and phrases and stuff that he obviously didn't get from me. Sometimes this is fine, but every once in awhile he'll just say something that I don't like (like when he called Eli a butthead or other stuff like that). And the weirdest thing--one of his friends had a phone at recess and they were watching videos. According to Gabe they only watched this "funny" video where a guy fell down on his face on the grass and said "where's the sun?" but I still REALLY don't like the idea of him watching videos on anyone's phone at school. At all. And who sends their second grader to school with a smart phone? Seriously. Gabe said the teacher took it away, though, so hopefully it stays that way.

But for the most part it's great. They're still happy, Eli loves school, and we haven't had any homework yet so that's the best part.
