Writer's Block: Take a (second) chance on me
Hugely wonderful question for me right now; one of my most memorable and life changing friendships came from revisiting an old phreek after years estranged. We forged a new friendship that broke a lot of boundaries for me and it was good. For about six months. Then he returned to his propensity to being A Phreek and it fell the hell back apart.
No regrets on that one. But it's clear that once people are wired a certain way, thus they stay. They can visit other ways of behaving but eventually they'll wander back to their baseline. I'm wired to be fabulous and perfect, so you can see the propensity for discord.
