Roomates

Gosh, don't you just love the awkward stages of meeting your roommate? All those wacky misunderstandings and dilopmatic emails?

Basically, my soon to be collage roommate freaked out when she discovered I wanted to buy my kitchen supplies second hand. After I informed her that second hand was all I could afford, thank you very much, she comes back ( Read more... )

I had two bad roommates last year. The only thing that kept me sane was the internet and all my friends on it.

If the roommate does turn out horrible, either request to move (I've got a whole other rant on that process at my school) or invest it really good headphones and a comfy chair to tough it out. Also, complaining to LJ friends helps relieve stress.

I won't be so bad because I somehow weaseled myself into a college campus apartment. Perks include furniture, kitchen, bathroom, and my own room :).

Awesome. I've got an apartment dorm too. They're much better than normal dorms.

Hey sweetie!

(This is rather embarrassing. I'm not a bitch; I am just completely retarded and forgot to friend you.)

Anyway, speaking as someone who suffers from OCD, lemme say--she's being an ass, not obsessive-compulsive. An obsessive-compulsive person would flip out in private, perhaps tell a close friend, and pretend second-hand cookware didn't phase her at all.

Interestingly enough, I have a lot more trouble buying things new than used; if something's used, I'll ignore all of its imperfections, whereas if something's new, I might spend (literally) up to a half-hour trying to decide whether or not a little chip or bent packaging is a deal-breaker.

Is this your freshman year of college? Where are you going, if you don't mind my asking, and what are you studying? I only ask because I'm just about to start my freshman year (OMGs I leave on Saturday WTFBBQ). Tres exciting.

You automatically brightend my day with your icon, so I forgive you.

I was kinda hoping she'd be OCD because if she's not it means she's a spoiled rich girl. Crap-o-la.

Nope, not a Freshman. I'm going to be a big, old Sophomore in Boston. I'm planning to get a double major in English and Business. Soy loca.

Thank you; I aim to please.

I live right around Boston, actually, but I'm heading to Providence for college (yeah, I know, I live in the world's greatest college town and what do I do? I fall in love with a university in another state). But your combination degree intrigues me. I'm probably going to end up double-majoring as well, albeit in semi-complimentary fields.

So, how's the Psych fic going? I'm looking forward to it like crazy. It seems fic-production in our fandom has slowed down a bit, and we need something to get us through the mini-hiatus.

Oooh, living with people - it can suck so, so bad. I'm moving in with my sister next. The thought terrifies me, but I figure after parents, insane (as in for real) flat mates, and people down the hall who just don't understand the concept of closed doors and no noise after eleven on a school night... well I figure sleeping in a living room and sharing space with my sister (who used to drive me crazy when we were kids, but she's got a job now that leaves her pretty drained each day so I should be safe) it shouldn't be too bad. Spoilt brats suck, very much. Never lend them money, they will not return it even if they can afford it ten times over. Hope for OCD though, they clean the place up real nice. :-)

It's not so bad. We have separate rooms so it's not like she's constantly in my face. Except, now, she'll just walk into her apartment and close her door. I really haven't spoken to her in four days...

She not even really mean! She doesn't yell or huff at me, and we haven't fought at all. It's just awkward avoidance. I think I'm beneath her.

Whatever, she's a Yankee's fan anyway.

Um, no offense what so ever if you're a Yankees fan, but (if you are)seriously... why?

Thanks for caring! You're so sweet. Write more Psych fic!
