Author Notes  First of all, thank you to  who has read this through so many times, she's memorized it and also for letting me borrow Mad Joe and Peter from her fic "Front Door Key" and if you haven't read this, why not?  It's amazing and will give you insight into Mad Joe.  Also, thanks to  for letting me borrow Lyle and Ditzy and to  for letting me play in her Lester/Connor/Becker sandbox, sorry, I seem to have knocked down your sand castle. I  Oh, almost forgot, Dr. Heather Kessler is a character from "CSI" and knows a thing or twelve about the dom/sub culture.

Chapter 12

Joe thought he was being taken back to his cell, but he was taken to a small room with a large mirror on one wall, a table and two chairs.  He was chained to the chair and while one soldier waited outside the door, another stayed in the room with him.  He was beginning to wonder at this new game when the door opened and in walked an incredibly beautiful woman.  Joe was pleased about this as he’d always been able to bend women to his will and was fairly certain he’d have no trouble with this one.  She spoke,

“Mr. Park, my name is Dr. Heather Kessler.  I’m here to help the government determine what to do with you so my suggestion is that you be as honest and forthcoming as you can.”  With that, she sat across the table and began to ask him questions.

In another room in the ARC, a large table was circled by James Lester, Danny Quinn, Capt. Becker, a member of the violent crimes unit of the Metropolitan Police, and the Minister who, because of the importance of this meeting, had left his office in London and traveled to the rather more bucolic location of the ARC, and last but certainly by no means least, Dr.Heather Kessler.

“Dr. Kessler,” began the Minister, “have you completed your investigation?”

“Yes, Minister, I have,” replied the doctor, who went on,  “As a rule, I would never move this quickly on any case study because it’s too easy to miss small ‘tells’ that provide me with insight into the individual I’m studying, however, in this case, Joe Park was more than happy to share his rather sordid history with me.  I believe he thought if he manipulated me into feeling sorry for him, he might manage to get out of the situation in which in finds himself.”

“And did he? Manipulate you, I mean,” asked Lester.

Dr. Kessler laughed, “Oh, he did try.  He really is a most remarkable young man, that is, for a sociopathic masochist with a narcissistic personality.”

“Gentlemen, Joe Park is, without a doubt, one of the most dangerous men I have ever had the misfortune to meet and let me assure you, I’ve met some very dangerous men.  He has but one goal and that is to   kill Connor Temple.”

To say you could have heard a pin drop after her pronouncement was an understatement.  The men facing her were stunned.

“But I thought he got what he wanted when he kidnapped Mr. Temple and tortured him?” was the response from the Minister, and the Met officer nodded in agreement.

“Oh, no, that was the foreplay.  He wants Connor dead and to a lesser degree, James Lester, Danny Quinn, and Capt. Becker, but if he could kill Connor, he’d literally die a happy man.”

“You see, gentlemen, Joe Park firmly believes that he is the reincarnation of the Marquis de Sade and, like de Sade, believes he has the God-given right to do what he wants with those he considers to be lesser beings.  He has determined that he has the right to own Connor Temple, that somehow he was supposed to be his … reward for being so patient and waiting for him.  He believes he was grooming Connor and then, when his prize was taken from him, he went insane with jealousy, thinking that some other man was touching him, loving him.”  At the gasp she heard, she explained, “Joe Park’s idea of love is nothing like yours or mine.  His idea of love is that the person he ‘loves’, or is fixated on, wants him in the same manner, wants him to dominate them in such a vicious way, that, well … that they’d die for him, at his hands.  He believes that Connor wants to die for him and that he is waiting for him.”  She went on, “If Joe Park ever leaves this place, he will kill Connor Temple.”

“If Joe Park is ever placed within a prison population, such is his strength of will, intelligence, and sheer charisma, he will, within the week, be in charge of the prison population, and he will have someone outside kill Connor Temple in a manner that would befit his grandiose ideas of himself.”

“Gentlemen, you have asked me for my professional opinion and that’s it.  Joe Park must never be allowed to leave this place.  To do so, would most certainly mean the death of Connor Temple.”  With that, Dr. Kessler excused herself and left them.

“Good God, Minister,” bellowed Lester, “the ARC is not a prison!  We don’t have the manpower or facilities to house a deranged psychopathic killer!”

“Calm down, Lester,” said the Minister, “let’s think this through.  You certainly have one thing here that other facilities don’t have to deal with a situation such as this.  It seems clear to me that we just wait for a convenient anomaly, preferably where the creatures are large and hungry, and we just shove him through.  Problem solved.”

“With all due respect, Sir,  It really doesn’t work that way.  First of all, even if we find an anomaly that leads to these “large and hungry creatures”, we have the problem of someone from our time period finding the remains of what shouldn’t have existed during that time period!”  replied Lester “and then we’ll have all manner of scientists making waves and nattering on about aliens or some such nonsense.  No, there has to be a better solution.”

Danny had been sitting quietly, listening and finally spoke up, “What if we were to take him into a more stable anomaly, turn him loose, let him get eaten, and clean up the mess.  No one’s the wiser and we’re well and truly rid of one of the most evil men I’ve ever encountered.”

“Would we all be able to live with ourselves?” asked Lester quietly.

Capt. Becker replied, “I’d sleep like a baby.”

The men around the table nodded in agreement and began to stand.  “Gentlemen,” Lester interrupted, “if I may.  You all know that I hate this man with every fiber of my being and nothing would give me greater pleasure than to personally push him through the aforementioned anomaly, however, we really do need to think this through a bit more carefully.”

“Come on, Lester,” said Danny, “this is the right decision.  This man does not deserve to live and that’s not just for what he did to Connor.  He’s a monster.  I’ve seen firsthand what he’s done to other young men and this punishment is not out of line.”

Lester was deep in thought.  “Danny, am I correct in saying that one of these victims is a young man by the name of Victor Elliot?”

“Yes,” Danny answered.  “In fact, he’s the one who didn’t make it.”

“Then,” responded Lester with a smile, “our solution is simple.  Turn him over to Section 42.”

Everyone began to speak at once with Becker shouting the loudest.  “For the love of God, Lester, the way those people work, they’ll have Joe Park on a pedestal and treating him like some kind of tin god!  That’s the last place we should send him!”

The Minister, however, had gone quiet and was smiling along with Lester.  “Lester, I believe that’s a capital idea.  I assume you are remembering that the new man in charge at Section 42 is none other than Colonel Thomas Elliott?  Whose nephew, Victor, recently died a rather gruesome death?”

“Why, yes, Minister, that had come to mind.” replied Lester.

The quiet surrounding this announcement was intense as the Minister made a quick phone call.

Colonel Thomas Elliott was reputed to be a very dangerous man whose main blind spot was his family.  When his sister’s only son, and his God son,  had been murdered, he’d vowed revenge if he ever found the person responsible.  As he strode into the room, his first words were, “Where is the bastard.  I want him now!”

Lester answered, “You shall have him Col. Elliott.  We just want your assurance that he’ll never again see the light of day” and went on to explain the circumstances that brought them all together, as well as providing him with Dr. Kessler’s report.

The Colonel responded, “No need for you to worry, Sir.  This arsehole will rue the day he ever met me.  Hell is going to look very good to him, but I intend to deny him that pleasure for as long a time as possible.”

Capt. Becker smiled.  This was a good result.  Joe Park was as good as dead, but he had every intention of paying him a visit before he left.
