I was under the weather a couple of days...

I was under the weather so I went to the doctor ~ I like what he had to say.

Q. I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life: is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it - don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying ( Read more... )

LOL - that is pretty funny.

I think what does us in is:
1. stress - work vs. life ration ==== years of body abuse
2. lack of drinking water
3. becoming accustomed and needing [my hand is up and waving] air conditioning everywhere

Glad you got a chuckle...
Yes, stress is a major factor in our life, along with those other items you mentioned.
My hand is waving ~ me needs air conditioning A LOT.

*hope you have as good a w/e as you can. (life doesn't get any easier, does it?)

I hate air conditioning before and after the dog days. I believe it should only be turned on when the discomfort index is very high, not at the first sign of spring. I have literally turned blue in restaurants and yes, at work (before I retired) from AC that was set on "overkill".

I "hear" you - unfortunately Cincinnati is the so freaking humid and hot for such long periods of times it is unhealthy. One of the reasons we are planning to move in the not too distant future.

I read your LJ user info and I wanted to share one thing and ask you a question:
1. First you are living and experiencing the life right now that my wife and I hope to enjoy when we retire. I am happy that you are able to do so.

2. Possibility we could be LJFs? I will add you and hope that you say okay.

Take care...

"Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me."

Hahaha! Ah-hohoho!

Thank you, Auntconi. I sure needed that laugh.

Diet... daisytells April 27 2008, 03:28:18 UTC
I love this diet. I would have no trouble at all staying on it. However, I am afraid it would not work for me. Dammit!

hehehe ~ I hear you ~ but it is all in our dreams!

*as for the air conditioning issue ...
I only turn it on 'when it is necessary' but do like it available at the ready.
I am fortunate to live where the breezes flow freely and my windows are open so the fresh air can enter/exit easily.
I do have a screened in patio/veranda/porch/lanai so I may sit outside w/o being eaten by the mosquitoes
~ they never bothered my hubby ~ he used to say "the skeeters bite you cuz you're so sweet" :)
