After just proofreading about a million (is an exaggerator--but boy did it feel like that many) I'm holding up both hands and feet (stops to give you time to stop laughing at that frightening mental image)-- but seriously, folks, how do you turn in a fic that you couldn't even be bothered to check the spelling of canon names or anything else for that matter?

Truly, it boggles the mind, doesn't it?

Don't even get me started on the stuff my daughter has brought home from her Language Arts classes. *weeps*

Some people do make an honest effort and still fail utterly, to the hilarity sorrow hilarity of all. Every year we make a big deal about how saint reports may not be just c&p from the internet. Everything, we say, has to be in your own words.

A year or two ago, we had one student work very hard at that. He sat down with his thesaurus and was diligent at ensuring that no sentence went by just as he found it on the website. Each and every one was modified so that it was in his own words. Including the sentence in which the internet explained that St. X found something he felt was not fair.

"St. X.," said our confirmation candidate, "found that [whatever] was not blond."

*sigh*
